My wife and I joined the Santa Monica FCCA in 1957. Shortly afterwards we bought our first sports car…a 1955 MGTF 1500. We participated in many rallys by different clubs. We also became the editors of the SMFCCA newsletter called “Check Point”. Most members worked on the rallys their club sponsored. We made many friends and had a great time on the various events. With a friend (Joe Walmsley) we layed out the Forever Amble Rally, which drew about 60 sports cars on the event day in 1961
I have been in contact with Doug and have learned he was responsible for some of the Santa Monica Chapter’s artwork. I will be posting a story from Doug in the near future. Thanks, Doug for adding another dimension to the FCCA history web site!
