Four Cylinder Club of America History Project

The 1953 Sports Car Motor Week was the most aggressive of the series.  It even included a road race, the FCCA’s only wheel-to-wheel event, at Chino Airport, east of Los Angeles, California.  Here are some pages from the program.  These are the only pages I have; they basically cover the road race event.  If you have other pages, or the complete program, please contact us!

I found a trophy in a thrift shop today, that says:
    F C C A
    SPORTS CAR MOTOR WEEK
    JULY 1953
    GYMKHANA
    1st PLACE
    CLASS C

Can you tell me anything about it?
    Thank you

      Hi Monica

Sports Car Motor Week was an annual event that lasted two years. It was discontinued because member clubs were overwhelmed by the amount of work that it took to organize and to staff the event. The event included a concours, gymkhana, road race, rally, and awards banquet. That was just too much for member clubs. At one of the events, they raffled off a new MG sports car.
